How much is over the limit?

There is currently an increased presence at night testing for drink driving. How many drinks is the equivalent of the blood-alcohol test limit of 22 mg?

The police spokesman explained that it is difficult to pinpoint exactly how many drinks are equivalent to the 22mg alcohol limit. “It’s difficult to say because while one person could be OK after two glasses of wine, another may not.”

Apparently, it depends on how strong your system is and how well it copes with alcohol but over two drinks, you’ll probably be nearing the limit. Also, if you’ve had a heavy night of drinking, you should know that you may still be over the limit the next morning. For your body to fully recover from the effects of a heavy night of drinking, you should avoid alcohol for a full 48 hours.
