Man held for posting naked photos of Nicosia women on the internet

A 21-YEAR-old man was remanded in custody yesterday on suspicion of uploading indecent photos of three young women on the internet.

The photos, featuring the three women from Nicosia naked in compromising positions, had been circulating the internet for months.

Police yesterday remained unsure how the suspect had obtained the images. Despite admitting to uploading them, the 21-year-old gave a number of explanations over how he had come to possess them.

The three women, in their early 20s, had come across the photos by chance back in September and immediately notified the police.

According to the plaintiffs, they had willingly been photographed with a mobile telephone camera and had kept the photos for their personal use.
Limassol CID investigated the case and found the website on which the photos featured. On Wednesday night, the suspect’s house was searched and the photos were found stored on his computer.

Police are now in search of a third party, who is believed to have provided the 21-year-old with the images.
