Cocktail of the week with Fabrizio Musorella

Melon Ball

I have talked about the importance of quality ingredients, methods of preparation and garnishes. However there’s also an art, ritual and beauty to serving a cocktail in the right glass. Many glasses are interchangeable, and part of the fun comes from serving a drink in something unexpected. Fine, clear glasses with a thin rim and a detailed stem are the best for showing off the quality and the appearance of cocktails. Originally each type of drink has a glass named or shaped specifically for it. For instance a long drink is served in a Highball; a Martini cocktail is served in the famous v shaped cocktail glass; a Pi?a Colada is best enjoyed in a colada glass and a flute is essential for a champagne cocktail! Salute!
