Where’s his dirty underwear?

POLICE in Larnaca have foiled a marriage of convenience between a Cypriot and an Eastern European women after demanding to see the husband’s apparently non-existent unwashed clothes in the apartment the couple supposedly shared.

According to reports, the police suspected the marriage, legally carried out at the Aradippou Town Hall, was not for real, and began watching the apartment.

They became even more suspicious when they saw a man who was not the husband going in and out of the building.

After investigating further, they confronted the woman inside the apartment, where officers dissatisfied with her answers, asked to see her Cypriot husband’s unwashed clothes, but there were no men’s clothes there.

She then became flustered and police decided there was enough evidence to launch a full investigation. If the woman is found guilty of engaging in a marriage of convenience, she will be deported from Cyprus.

Aradippou Municipality was in the spotlight last year after a ring of fake marriages was uncovered.
