Two students critical after crash

TWO female students were critically injured in a car accident in Nicosia in the early hours of Monday morning.

Shortly after midnight, a car driven by 20-year-old Constantina Shacola from Astromeritis collided with another vehicle on the corner of Kritis and Stasandrou streets. The force of the impact was so strong, it sent Shacola’s car careering into a tree.

Shacola and her 20-year-old passenger, Christina Ioannou from Kokkinotrimithia, were rushed to Nicosia General Hospital where their condition has been described as critical.

The 41-year-old driver of the other vehicle was treated for minor injuries.

The police are investigating the circumstances which led to the accident.
