Malta President to visit

THE PRESIDENT of Malta Edward Fenech Adami is due in Cyprus tomorrow on a three-day visit for official talks with President Tassos Papadopoulos.

Following the official welcoming ceremony at the Presidential Palace, the two Presidents will hold a private meeting and official talks with the participation of their delegations, and will make statements to the press.

On Monday Adami will also meet House of Representatives President Demetris Christofias and Archbishop Chrysostomos II, who will accompany him on a visit to the Cathedral of St. John and the Makarios III Foundation.

The Maltese President will also visit the Cyprus Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Municipality of Nicosia, the old city of Nicosia and the ceasefire line, accompanied by Nicosia Mayor Eleni Mavrou, who will present him with the Medal of the City of Nicosia. A state banquet will be hosted in his honour by Papadopoulos.

On Tuesday, Adami will visit Larnaca, where he will visit the Cultural Centre, the Pierides Museum and the Byzantine church of Saint Lazarus, accompanied by Larnaca Mayor Andreas Moyseos.

When he returns to Nicosia later that day Adami will host a reception in honour of Papadopoulos before leaving the island.

The Maltese President will be accompanied by his Minister of Foreign Affairs Michael Frendo, and a business delegation.
