Drunk mother crashes with kids in car

A MOTHER of two is to appear before a judge after crashing drunk into another vehicle with her two children in the car.

Yesterday, police in Larnaca stated that the 34-year-old woman had 119mg of alcohol in her blood following an alcotest.

The legal alcohol limit in Cyprus is 22mg.

The accident occurred on Sunday night when the woman was driving along Ayios Giorgos Kontou street, lost control of her car and crashed into an oncoming car driven by a 30-year-old man.

Nobody was hurt in the crash.

The woman could have her licence suspended if found guilty by the Larnaca Traffic Court.

Earlier on Sunday, a Russian man was also arrested after crashing into the side railings on the Larnaca- Dhekelia road. The man, who did not have insurance for the car that he was driving, also performed an alcotest with showed that he had 97mg of alcohol in his system.

Alcohol was also believed to have been behind the cause of another accident on Sunday night in Paphos.

Paphos police yesterday said that a 33-year-old Pontian lost control of his car and crashed into a parked car before finally slamming into a tree.

Officers breathalysed the man who had 104mg of alcohol in his system.
