CID investigating saucy prison guard ad

POLICE have launched an investigation against a prison guard who allegedly placed the telephone number of a female colleague in the pink pages of a newspaper.

The matter is now being looked at by CID after the complaint by the female prison guard, who has told investigators that she suspects a colleague who works in the same office as her.

The suspect has reportedly been transferred to another department while the investigation continues.

According to the story in Politis newspaper, the ad, which was placed in the pink pages via the internet, stated that a woman was interested in performing sexual favours for a fee.

The woman claims that since her telephone number was placed in the pink pages, men have been calling her continuously especially late at night asking about her ad and asking “what kind of favours she would perform and for what kind of fee”.

Police say the woman informed her superiors at the Nicosia Central Prisons before going to CID.

A disciplinary investigation has already been launched against the suspect and it is understood that a criminal investigation will soon follow.

Investigations at the newspaper carrying the ad have shown it was sent in by email.

Officers are set to look into the guard’s office computer as well as his computer at home.
