Bakandy’s Diet crackers
Bakandy’s have been going for ages and soon after they launched their crackers range, the ‘light’ version was out and embraced immediately. And I can see why. The packet has eight, individually-wrapped packets of three inside, making it easy to just put as many as you need in your bag without ending up with crumbs at the bottom. And they taste really good as well, with a total of 432 calories in the whole packet.

Elite
With oregano and feta flavour, I thought it best to try this brand sans cheese because I always find flavours like this a bit strong. They’re very fine crackers, I must say, and if you’re a fan of that traditional Greek mixture of herbs and feta, you’ll love them. I wouldn’t, however, recommend them with anything; they’re perfect straight from the packet.

Carr’s Water Biscuits
Just looking at the packet, these crackers are probably the type you would find at high society parties and events. The thin, crispy biscuits are baked golden brown but have a bit of a twist. It says on the packet, that instead of fat, water is used to blend the ingredients, making them fill you up with a total of 400 calories. They might be the most expensive of the lot but I did enjoy my Camembert a bit more.

Ritz
Everyone loved these. One large box of small crackers, they don’t really need the cheese or caviar the box recommends as they are tasty enough o be eaten alone. Ritz were a winner all around in our office with their light cheesy taste. Small, salted and mouth-watering, I would say stay far away if you tend to go through whole packets and are watching your weight. Ideal as a snack to accompany wine or beer.

Allatini
Allatini is a Greek brand that specialises in delicious crispbreads, but these are a little bit different. Made with rye flour, I needed a good amount of cheese to enjoy them. But then again I don’t like rye, but if you’re a fan, I think you’ll find them most satisfying.

Jacob’s
I was curious to find out just how long Jacobs crackers have been proudly stacked on supermarket shelves but thought it didn’t matter anyway because when something is this good, explanations are needless. I enjoyed every moment of the roasted garlic cream crackers and they would be perfect with anything, try them with smoked salmon or just cheese. And with only 35 calories per cracker, they’re an excellent source of fibre.

Marks and Spencer
Savoury wheat crackers with toasted wheat germ and bran, there’s 80 calories in each and they’re so delicious, I regretted not getting two packets. Definitely a brand I would offer my guests or would like to see at a cocktail party.
