Clerides in good humour after angiogram

FORMER president Glafcos Clerides had a quiet night following his angiogram on Wednesday, his doctor said yesterday.

Speaking to the Cyprus News Agency (CNA) the 83-year-old’s personal doctor Iosif Casios said the former president was very well and that his patient continued to recuperate at a good pace.

“This morning he was extremely well, in good humour. He had a quite night. It doesn’t appear we have any problem,” the doctor said.

Casios expressed the conviction that by the end of this week or the beginning of next week, doctors would decide when to discharge the former president.

“Perhaps tomorrow a preliminary decision will be made. However, it all depends on what the following day brings,” he said.

Clerides underwent the angiogram at Nicosia’s American Heart Institute after complaining of chest pains last week while receiving treatment in Larnaca hospital’s intensive care unit for acute bronchitis.
