Souvla diplomacy

Sir,

I take umbrage with the Cyprus Mail’s comment that the truck driver’s strike is a charade.  Only yesterday it reported that as a goodwill gesture the truckers had invited the Justice Minister to join them at the campfires to share ‘”souvla and zivania”.  He in return, reciprocated by cancelling all the traffic fines issued when their trucks were illegally parked outside the ports.  Both Noddy and Big Ears would agree with such action.  So next time I have a speeding or a parking ticket, the Justice Minister gets invited to my barbie and the ‘tickets get dealt with’.  After all, we are all equal in the eyes of the law, aren’t we?
