Pedestrian killed by car

AN EIGHTEEN-year old man died after being hit by a car on Salaminos Avenue in Nicosia on Thursday night

At 8.45pm, a car driven by a 28-year-old ran over 18-year-old Tsurin Sviatoslav, who was crossing the road at the time. The 28-year old driver was arrested and remanded in custody to facilitate investigations. The driver showed a zero alcohol level.

The police have called on anyone who may have any information regarding the accident to contact the Nicosia Traffic Department or the nearest police station or call the Citizen’s Hotline on 1460.

Nicosia Traffic Police is investigating the cause of the accident.
