Anastassiades dinners with Talat

DISY LEADER Nicos Anastassiades last night dined with Turkish Cypriot leader Mehmet Ali Talat and his wife Oya, at a hotel in occupied Kyrenia,

Before the dinner, Talat told reporters that they would discuss the Cyprus problem, drought and other environmental issues.

He also conveyed his best wishes to former President Tassos Papadopoulos who is currently being treated in intensive care and said he hoped he gets well soon.

Anastassiades, who was accompanied by Katy Clerides, said he was happy to be reunited with his old friend. “The dinner will give us the opportunity to exchange views. We both dream to see our island reunited soon,” said Anastassiades.

Reporters were not allowed into the area where the dinner took place.
