Take 7 Moisturising Shower Gels

St. Ives Nourishing Vanilla & Vitamin E Shower Cream
One of two shower gels that we chose with a vanilla scent. In most cases I would steer clear of vanilla scented products as they can sometimes be sickly sweet. In this case though the fragrance has only a delicate hint of vanilla. Also contains vitamin E, which soothes the skin while serving as an antioxidant. It left my skin feeling clean and moisturised, at a very reasonable price.

Korres Shower Gel Vanilla Cinnamon
The second vanilla scented shower product, with the added woody aroma of cinnamon. I found the scent of this body wash a tad overpowering, it smelt like frankincense, giving off a very festive aroma, which is a shame as the creamy foam shower gel left my skin feeling soft with a lasting moisturising effect.
It boasts a host of natural ingredients with beneficial factors such as active aloe juice, vitamin C, vitamin E, zinc and antioxidant enzymes that enhance the immune system of the skin. Furthermore, and on a more encouraging note, due to its ability to stimulate collagen and elastin synthesis, the aloe vera gel retards skin ageing!

Dove Beauty Care Shower Silk Glow
For those of us with normal skin and as far as supermarket brands go, it is hard to beat Dove in terms of value for money and quality.
Dove Softening Silk Shower combines specially selected silk with Dove’s 1/4 light moisturising cream. This rich and creamy shower gel gently cleanses the body with a silky lather; giving off a subtle and pleasant scent, leaving the skin smooth with a refreshed, pearl soft feeling.

L’Occitane Ultra Rich Shower Cream
This rich-textured cream offers a subtle and cleansing experience. The detergent-free formula, with a high percentage of nourishing shea butter, natural coconut base and soy proteins, foams very delicately in the shower leaving your skin nice and smooth, with a gentle fragrance that smells very fresh and clean. It also comes in a squeeze bottle which is perfect for the shower and travel; on the downside it’s a bit pricey so save up!

Mastic Spa Shower Honey Oil
I was slightly apprehensive about using this product as its thick treacly-brown liquid reminded me more of cough syrup or iodine ointment than a shower gel. Despite its unappealing appearance and a glass bottle, which could be problematic if dropped in the shower, this product was big hit for me. The shower honey oil lathered up surprisingly well and the formula itself gently cleanses the body leaving your skin clean, soft and delicately scented with the magical aroma of mastic.

Yves Rocher Coconut Creamy Bath-Shower Gel
I’m a big fan of coconut scented products and this brings a touch of exotic sweetness to your shower routine, conjuring up scenes of tropical beaches, coconut-laced suntan lotion and delicious Pina Coladas. This rich and creamy foaming gel makes the skin feel beautifully pampered and supple, invigorating the mind and body with its divine fragrance, which is good enough to eat!

The Body Shop Coconut Shower Cream
Lose yourself in another creamy, coconut-scented product. The coconut (combined with equally-moisturising sunflower seed oil and vitamin E) really sinks in and hydrates every inch of your body. The texture of this product is much thicker and stickier compared to the rest of the body washes that I tried, with a more authentic coconut aroma.
