Earthquake tremor in Limassol

A WEAK earthquake measuring 3.6 on the Richter scale was recorded by seismographs at the Geological Survey Department yesterday at 9.25am.

According to the Department, which belongs to the Agriculture Ministry, the earthquake’s epicentre was located in the Prastio Kellakiou region of Limassol with a focal depth of 15 kilometres. The earthquake was felt by some residents living in Limassol, in Yermasoyia and within the epicentre region.

No damage was reported.

The Geological Survey Department is keeping a close watch on any seismological developments resulting from the tremor.
