Seeking bids for diamond studded Easter egg

THE SHOWSTOPPER of last Saturday’s Easter egg auction at the Chocolate Workshop in Platres will be on display until Easter and those interested can still make a bid for it.

The egg is on its way to make it into the Guinness Book of World Records as the most expensive chocolate Easter egg ever made.

It is studded with diamonds, rubies, emeralds, sapphire and amethysts, and had been held at a reserve price of €25,000.

“I will now be accepting offers for less than that,” said the co-owner of the workshop, John Adams.

“This is because I want to give a real boost to the charity we promised the proceeds from the auction to.”

“We’re already giving them €500 as a result of Saturday’s auction,” he explained.

The beneficiary is the Sirius Dog Foundation, which operates a dog shelter in the Limassol district.
