Two hurt in mountain crash

TWO PEOPLE were injured in a road accident on the main Troodos-Astromeritis road on Sunday evening.

The accident happened when a car being driven by a 48-year-old Larnaca man crashed into the vehicle in front of him, which was being driven by a 24-year-old man from Nicosia.

The second car was carrying four passengers, but only the drivers of both vehicles were injured, and were both transferred to Nicosia’s General Hospital.

Police suspected the 48-year-old driver to be driving under the influence and he was to submit to an alcohol test but refused.

The cause of the accident is still under investigation by the Evrychou Police Department.
