Two massive new malls in the pipeline

THE CABINET is considering proposals by Athienitis property developers to build two new shopping malls Cyprus in Nicosia and Paphos.

The planned “Nicosia Mall” will be in the Lakatamia district and will include several department stores, a super market, shops, a multiplex, restaurants, children’s play area and 1,700 parking spaces.

According to Athienitis the total interior floor space is expected to be around 82,000 square metres.

The “Kings Avenue Mall” in Paphos will be build in cooperation with Aristo Developers include several department stores, a super market, shops restaurants, covered playground and 1,100 underground parking spaces. The building will cover an area of around 48,000 square metres.

If the proposals are approved, construction on the project is due to start in 2011 and be completed in early 2013.
