At least three-injured in late-night brawl

A STREET brawl in which at least six people were involved occurred in the Kaimakli-Pallouriotissa area of Nicosia late on Thursday.
The fight occurred around 11.30pm but, according to witnesses, the people involved were shamed and embarrassed by local residents into leaving before the police arrived.
When police did arrive on the scene, they managed to gather several surnames.
From wider investigations it was discovered that three of them had proceeded to the emergency department of the Nicosia General Hospital for first aid treatment.
A 28-year-old who had suffered bruising to the head and right leg but without any breakage of the skin, a 27-year-old who had received bruising to his nose and upper lip and a 24-year-old who had bruised the knuckles of his left hand.
So far five arrest warrants have been drawn up.  Police are preliminarily seeking to press charges for fighting, carrying weapons with the intention of inciting fear and intention to cause grievous bodily harm.
The alleged brawlers are said to be of Pakistani and Romanian nationality and to have been involved in the fight over some disagreements arising from financial considerations.
