H1N1 protection needs water

I have just read Lucy Millet’s excellent article on H1N1 (Cyprus Mail, September 11).  She has given very sound advice and hopefully, many people will read it and take heed of it.
There is just one factor which has not been considered: a constant supply of water in schools and kindergartens!

Every bit of advice given in the article hangs on the fact that water is needed in every category: hand washing, personal hygiene, washing of door handles, light switches and last but not least, water for washing pupils/student clothes more frequently.

A friend who owns and runs a large kindergarten in Limassol washes all toys, floors and furniture every evening. She is spending a fortune on disinfectant-spray, as her large water supply is not nearly enough to wash everything with soapy water !

Perhaps it would be possible in such cases to give a free supply of antiseptic spray to such establishments ? Better still give cities more water, after all,  there are very few tourists here so the water-board could reduce the amount of water supplied to hotels, (and private homes and flats), etc., along the coastal strip of Limassol and give it to establishments of learning and kindergartens etc.
Hopefully someone in authority will take good notice of my letter ?
