Great concert, woeful directions

I arrived in Cyprus on Monday for five days business in Limassol. I noticed from Cyprus Airways’ in-flight magazine that the Cyprus Symphony Orchestra was playing that week in Larnaca and Nicosia.
The soloist was Alison Balsom, who plays the trumpet which such style. Along with the Cyprus Symphony Orchestra, the performance was first class. I could not understand why in Nicosia it was only €5; what a change for something to be cheap in Cyprus…

While I know my way around Limassol quite well, Larnaca I do not. I set out on Tuesday in more than enough time to arrive at the Larnaca Municipal Theatre. I got to the centre of  town and asked direction from a shop owner and three taxi drivers at their base. They all sent me to the wrong theatre. Too late for the concert, so I went back to Limassol.

On Wednesday set out for Strovolos Municipal Theatre. Got to Strovolos when a lady wanted to send me to the centre of Nicosia. I said it was at Strovolos and it could only be there. She sent me 1km up the straight road to where it was.

Why can the municipal leaders not have signs on the roads pointing out where the theatres are? If only in Greek, it would have helped me because at least the locals would also know.
I have sent a copy of this note to both Mayors. I will be interested in their reply.
You should be very proud of your own state orchestra.
