Lasers should be illegal

Concerning the use of lasers, which can cause accidents to airlines and damage eyesight, surely the simplest thing to do would be to make it illegal to possess or to sell them.
Anybody caught with lasers should be fined heavily or even jailed. They are a danger to society. It is illegal to possess drugs and certain firearms without a licence, these things should not be treated any different.

There is no real use anyone could have for one of these things, except in a physics laboratory, a school or a university environment. The law should allow only them in a school or university building.

Sometimes hospitals use lasers, but they are not the same type as what are being carried about by individuals causing mischief.
There have been similar problems with them in the UK so they should be made illegal there too.
