CY pilots receive prize for best take-offs

FOR THE second consecutive year Manchester International Airport’s “Skyliners’ Award” has been given to Cyprus Airways (CY) pilots for their precision in following the airport’s prescribed flight path during take-off. The prize was awarded to the airline in a special event held in Manchester last month.

Manchester Airport administration places great importance on the precision followed by each plane, as the area has a particularly high level of noise pollution, which the competent authorities are keen to reduce. CY won the same award last year with an impressively high score of 97.4 per cent.

Keeping an aircraft precisely within a determined flight path during take-off is not considered an easy task, said the airline. Cyprus Airways announced that it has managed to achieve this success after special efforts from its staff and Operations Department.
