Two new fire engines for airport

HERMES Airports yesterday presented two state of the art fire engines to the fire services of Larnaca Airport.

The vehicles have already been added to the ranks of the fire department of Larnaca airport, for which the staff have already received the appropriate training.

The two fire fighting vehicles are STRIKER 3000 models, they use the latest technology and posses such capabilities as a water capacity of 12,000 litres and a foam capacity of 1.680 litres. The vehicle can travel at 112km per hour and is fitted with off-road high mobility all-wheel independent suspension system which allows the vehicle to travel on any terrain.

Speaking on behalf of Hermes Airports during the ceremony the General Manager of Larnaca

Airport Yannis Papastefanou underlined the close cooperation that exists between Hermes and the Cyprus Fire Brigade, and highlighted the fact that with the acquisition of the two new vehicles, Larnaca Airport had upgraded its level of safety.
