Energy debate at old power house in Paphos

AS PART of the European Union efforts to raise public awareness on issues relating to environmental protection and energy saving, a public debate on “Eco House – Construction – Operation – Saving Energy” will take place tomorrow at 7.30pm in the Old Power House in Paphos.

The discussion will highlight the obligations and potential that Cypriot citizens have to help protect the environment at home and at work. General information will be given on the technical requirements and the existing provisions of law over the construction and operation of a “Eco House” and the applied techniques and methods of saving energy and water in households will be discussed.

Agriculture Minister Michalis Polynikis and Paphos Mayor Savvas Vergas will participate in the event. A public debate will follow with the participation of the Director of the Energy Office Solon Kasinis and others.

The public will have the opportunity to have their questions answered by the experts and the officials. The event will conclude with a reception for all the participants.

The event is organised by the Press and Information Office, the Paphos Municipality and ASTRA radio station. It will be open to the public.
