Police officer died of heart attack

A 34-year-old policeman was found dead in a field in Latsia on Tuesday afternoon died from a heart attack according to the autopsy conducted yesterday.

Kyriacos Kizas was found on the ground in Latsia where he went to walk his dogs at 4.30pm. A passerby found Kizas when he heard the dogs barking.

Pathologist Eleni Antoniou yesterday said that the police officer died from a myocardial infarction due to “chronic coronary atheroma disease” or narrowing of the arteries, which is hereditary. According to Antoniou, “the man never underwent any cardiac testing or visited a doctor, and had lost his life unjustly”.

Arson on nightclub owner’s car

Arsonists set fire to the luxury car of Efthymios Charalambous a Nicosia nightclub manager at 3.30am yesterday. The car was in a car park next to Charalambous’ house in Lakatamia. The perpetrators set the fire to the vehicle with inflammable material. It was completely destroyed. Charalambous said he has no differences with anyone and said he was surprised he was made a target for arsonists. Police collected evidence for the forensic investigations
