Police’s job is not to play music

On behalf of ‘Al Capone’ and associates, I would also like to say a big thank you to the police band for their Xmas playing of yuletide songs – Bravo!
One small question: why not leave that sort of thing to the Salvation Army or suchlike? Your job is to police.

To Mr David Jeremiah (‘Thank you to the police band’, Sunday Mail, January 4, 2009), I will say: how would you have felt if when you arrived home your house had been ransacked and your valuables stolen or broken?
‘Well done the band’? I think not.
