It’s not Cyprus’ fault the pound collapsed

Sir,
C’mon George from Paphos, what are you talking about? Yes, prices are dearer here than the UK but then they were before the euro came in – its not Cyprus’ fault the pound has collapsed and if you work out the prices you quoted in your letter back into Cyprus pounds, they don’t seem all that dearer.

For instance, you quoted that you spent €18.01 on a number of items purchased, I presume at E&S, which was equivalent to UK£10.39, but in old Cyprus pounds it would have only come to £10.54. In fact, every price you quoted was only a few cents more in most cases in old Cyprus pounds.

I cannot see Cyprus lowering its prices by the amount you want just because the pound has collapsed.
