Eurocypria scrambles for loans

Sir,
I was intrigued to see the above headline in the Cyprus Mail (January 1, 2009). I smiled to myself at how the mighty have almost fallen.

I am a citizen of the Irish Republic who visits Cyprus four times a year. Eurocypria fly from Dublin to Larnaca but do you think I can go online and book myself a return flight? Not on your Nelly.

So, I have to come via Heathrow and Gatwick to get to Larnaca. Some friends also wanted to fly from Dublin to Larnaca with Eurocypria this Christmas but they had to fly with other carriers to Prague and then on to Larnaca.

Two other couples we know also have to fly from Dublin to various parts of the UK to get another flight to Larnaca. So why does Eurocypria not open up their airline to us folk who do not want a package tour to Ayia Napa and would love to have the facility of flying direct from Dublin to Larnaca? Do they not want our money? If we Irish cannot fly direct to your lovely island we may just opt to fly to other places in the sun that have direct flights.
