Emirates Airline Festival of Literature announces the 2012 programme

A stellar cast of poets and authors from around the globe will be in Dubai for the 2012 Emirates Airline Festival of Literature being held between the 6th and 10th March under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice-President & Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, and in partnership with Emirates Airline and the Dubai Culture & Arts Authority (Dubai Culture).
Emirates Airline has just renewed the partnership and title sponsorship agreement with the Festival of Literature for a further three years.
The inimitable TV personality Terry Wogan headlines the Opening Night on 6 March at the magnificent theatre of the Cultural and Scientific Association, Al Mamzar.
This is followed by Heritage Night, with David Nicholls and Mourid Barghouti, at a specially constructed Heritage Venue at the Intercontinental Hotel Dubai.

In the following days, the Festival welcomes some 115 authors, writers and speakers from 25 countries in one of the world’s largest celebrations of the written and spoken word. Visitors can enjoy literary discussions, panel debates, masterclasses, workshops and readings as well as experience the Fringe and children’s events. There are cookery demonstrations and even a Literary Lunch and Tea.

It is expected that more than 30,000 visitors will attend sessions at this fourth edition of LitFest which has become an eagerly anticipated annual event.

From Dubai, Emirates flies daily to Larnaka. In the morning, EK 107 arrives in Larnaka from Dubai while in the afternoon EK108 arrives from Malta on its flight back to Dubai.
