Jamshid Turaev, the Uzbek-born athlete who holds the World Guinness Record in most rear pull-ups in one minute said may attempt to break another record in the near future.

“I will probably make another attempt in two or three months,” Turaev, also known as Alex, said in an interview after receiving the Guinness World Records certificate for his record from DISY lawmaker Andreas Michaelides at the CHS Fitness Studio in Limassol on Saturday.

On May 16, the 36 year old Turaev who is holder of a law degree and lives with his family in Limassol for the past 12 years, completed 26 rear pull-ups which was enough to grant him the title of the World Guinness Record holder.

Turaev said that he was happy his achievement helped include Cyprus in the Guinness Book of Records offering the country positive publicity and added that he was intending to participate in talent shows abroad, including in Ukraine in the near future.

“With some assistance from the authorities I could achieve even more,” he said.
