Couple rescued from locked car

A COUPLE aged 29 and 24 had to be freed from a locked car in Moutayiaka in Limassol in the early hours of Monday after becoming stuck inside without keys.

They were found in a semi-conscious state by police who had to break the car windows to get them out after the couple called for help from a mobile phone.

Police were not clear on the circumstances of how they became trapped other than to say that the man had initially left the car and when he returned did not  realise that he had dropped his keys on the way back to the vehicle, and when he got in the automatic locking kicked in.

The incident happened at around 12.45am. Police said the couple did not need hospital treatment.
