Man injured making firecrackers

A 37-year-old man from Limassol was seriously injured in an accident on Friday night, after the firecrackers he was making exploded.

CyBC reported the man was being treated at Limassol General Hospital.

According to the reports the man was making firecrackers at a holiday home he owns in Limassol. One of the police officers who arrived at the scene accidentally stepped into some the explosive material which lead to second, minor explosion. The officer was slightly injured.

According to CyBC, the 37-year-old had run-ins with the police in the past. In 2011 he was arrested when a large amount of firecrackers was found in his possession.
