Bi-communal seminar on domestic violence

The Technical Committees on Crime and Criminal Matters and Humanitarian Matters are jointly organising, with the support of the UN, a bi-communal seminar on domestic violence at the Ledra Palace Hotel on May 20.

Speakers from both communities will map the nature and extent of the problem in Cyprus and suggest effective approaches in domestic violence prevention, an announcement said.

The seminar is being organised “out of concern for increasing trends in domestic violence and the need to address the needs of the victims”.

The announcement said the two communities could utilise international experience and knowledge in this context.
