Strong winds islandwide

STRONG winds were blowing all over the island on Saturday though no serious damages have been reported so far.
According to the Meteorology Department, winds went as high as 7 on the Beaufort wind force scale. Twelve is the highest wind speed on the scale, equivalent to a hurricane.
Snow and rain are also expected. Temperatures are expected to drop to 15 degrees Celsius.
The weather will improve on Sunday, according to the Meteorology Department, with temperatures rising and wind speed dropping.
The police have advised all drivers heading for the Troodos mountains to be extremely careful, reminding that all roads leading to mountain are open only for four-by-four cars or cars equipped with snow chains.
