Limassol armed robbery

A MAN robbed two female employees of a Limassol McDonalds restaurant at gunpoint on Tuesday morning, stealing over €56,000 in cash, police said.

At around 11.45am, the pair walked out of the back door of the food outlet in the Yermasoyia area to go and deposit the takings from the long weekend, when they were approached by a hooded man armed with a pistol.

He ordered the two women to hand over the bag with the cash. They refused but the robber managed to wrest the bag from them, making off on foot.

The two women said the armed robber spoke with a Cypriot dialect and was described as being around 1.80m in height, muscular, 30 to 35-years-old.

Police have launched a manhunt for the perpetrator.
