Jail for drug dealer

A 39-year-old was sentenced to three and a half years in prison on Friday after being found guilty on charges of possessing almost a kilo of cannabis with intent to distribute.

Drug Squad (YKAN) officers arrested the man at a gas station at Kalo Chorio, Limassol in October last year in the middle of a drug deal. He had been parked in h is car and was and dealing with a 29-year-old. When approached by officers the latter threw a bag on the ground and tried to run for it but was caught. The bag contained two kilos of cannabis. A search of the parked card revealed another 993 grammes.

The 29-year-old was sentenced last month to four years.
