Convicts in Hadjicostis murder file appeal

THE FOUR people convicted for the murder of Sigma boss Andis Hadjicostis have lodged an appeal against their conviction at the Supreme Court.

They are former Sigma presenter Elena Skordelli (pictured), her brother Tasos Krasopoulis, Andreas Gregoriou and Grigoris Xenofontos.

According to Gregoriou’s lawyer, Michalis Pikkis the four appealed directly to the Supreme Court and the grounds for appeal will be revealed when the court calls an initial hearing.

It is believed it could take up to a year for the appeals to be heard. The four defendants were found guilty as charged: of conspiracy to commit murder and of premeditated murder, a verdict that carries automatic mandatory life imprisonment.
