APOEL coach quits

Greek coach Giorgos Donis and APOEL football club have parted company by mutual agreement an announcement posted on APOEL’s official website announced.

The decision was taken after a run of poor results for the Nicosia champions culminating in Monday’s draw with bottom of the table club Ayia Napa.

Donis joined APOEL in October 2013 and led them to the league and cup double.

This season APOEL got off to a flying start and qualified for the group stages of the Champion’s League and led the table by as much as five points at one stage. Despite the recent poor form they still lead the table with Apollonas.
