Economist sees implementation of Cyprus’s reform programme harder in 2015

The implementation of Cyprus’s economic reform programme is likely to face even stronger opposition next year, an academic economist said.
A number of pending reforms agreed with international creditors, including the overhaul of the public sector, the implementation of the national health scheme and the privatisation of CYTA, may prove more complicated compared to the fiscal reforms implemented so far, Sofronis Clerides, associated professor at the University of Cyprus said in a telephone interview today.
