Cypriot Nobel winner on Queen’s Birthday honours list

Cypriot Nobel laureate Professor, Christoforos Pissarides has been named on the Queen’s Birthday Honours list for the award of Knight Bachelor.

Pissarides who is head of the national economic council, was honoured for his services to economics.  Knight Bachelor is the most basic rank in the British honours system and is awarded for public service.
