Remand for drug suspects

Two men, aged 65 and 44 have been remanded for eight days for allegedly possessing drugs and stolen property, while two more men are being sought by police.
According to police reports, 513 grammes of cocaine were found by the Limassol drug squad (YKAN) in a car driven by the 65-year-old along with €4,300 in cash.
It was later discovered that the car itself had been reported stolen in the UK last January.
Drugs officers had the pair under surveillance after a tip-off and arrested them once the alleged transaction had been completed.
The court heard that the 65-year-old claimed the car had been given to him by one of the other two wanted men.
The 44-year-old claimed he had been asked by unknown persons if he wanted to make a quick buck by delivering the cocaine to the 65-year-old.
