Tchaikovsky’s ‘Waltz of the Flowers’ arranged for two pianos

Royal Ballet pianists Kate Shipway and Robert Clark perform a two-piano rendition of the ‘Waltz of the Flowers’ from Tchaikovsky’s ballet ‘The Nutcracker’, as arranged by Nicolas Economou.

As a precociously gifted pianist, Nicosia native Economou came to international attention at the 1969 Tchaikovsky Competition when he was 16, and later established himself throughout Europe as a concert pianist, composer, arranger, conductor and festival organiser. He died in a tragic car accident in Cyprus in December 1993.

Offered as part of a Royal Opera House series, the performance was filmed in the Bösendorfer Hall at Coach House Pianos.
