Contracts signed for new Tepak student dorms

Cyprus University of Technology (Tepak) has signed contracts for new student accommodation which will have 485 rooms and is set to cost €40m.

The architectural plans by E. Papachristou LLC, were approved after a total of 42 were assessed and Tepak, in Limassol, hailed the deal as the university’s biggest project since opening.

University rector, professor Panayiotis Zafeiris, said on Tuesday that the accommodation will greatly improve the quality of life for students and foster greater collaboration within the student body.

At the signing event, the project was also praised as it is hoped it will assist students in finding affordable accommodation in a city which has become known for its high costs of living.

Set for completion by 2025, Tepak also said the new accommodation will transform the way in which students engage with the wider Limassol area as a whole and will offer many other common use areas, such as gyms.

Universities in Cyprus have boosted their profile and services on offer in recent years by investing in ultra-modern student accommodation
