Money collected for children’s hospital

Nursery school children in Paphos collaborated with two NGOs to collect cans for recycling as part of making a donation to the children’s hospital.

Green research centre Akti along with Cans for Kids hosted a small event to reward the children from the community kindergarten in Peyia on Friday who managed to collect half a truckload of cans.

The proceeds will go towards the donation of medical equipment for children for hospitals nationwide, Cans for Kids said.

Peyia’s mayor Marinos Lambrou who took part in the event, congratulated the NGOs for their donations and highlighted the awareness of Peyia residents concerning recycling.

Cans for Kids have donated about €300,000 worth of medical equipment in recent years.
