Suspect recaptured after giving police the slip at court

IOANNIS Shacolas, 40, who managed to escape from Limassol court on Monday while in police custody, was found two hours later walking on King Constantine Street, near his home in Limassol.

According to police, Shacolas, who was arrested on April 20 on suspicion of purchasing goods with fake bank cards, was taken to court at 10am and by 10.15am managed to escape from the police officers who were accompanying him. After he ran out of the courthouse, a manhunt was immediately launched and he was found two hours later.
