Coronavirus: 181 cases detected on Tuesday (updated)

The health ministry said on Tuesday 181 people tested positive for coronavirus, bringing the total to 3,817.

According to the ministry, a total of 3,589 tests were processed.

A total of 48 cases were found from contact tracing, 113 from individuals tested on private initiative, eight from state hospital laboratories, seven from individuals tested on doctors’ orders, and five from passengers.

The ministry said 24 people are being treated at Famagusta General, the reference hospital, from where one was sent to be intubated at Nicosia general. Three other people are also intubated at Nicosia’s intensive care unit, while four are being treated in a Covid-19 ward.

In the north, ten cases were reported out of 1,901 tests. Six came from abroad and four were local cases.
