The Limassol Marina has become an obvious choice for those looking for a relaxing night out. Boasting a laid back waterfront atmosphere, anywhere you choose to eat is sure to make for a pleasant evening. And with a selection of high-end restaurants and some more casual options, there is a place for everyone. What better then than a taste of Greece with some souvlaki, meat, and ouzo as the water laps by your side?
Derlicious delivers tasty dishes from Greece, transporting its customers with its small island in Greece vibe. Its Greek décor, with wooden chairs and tables, gives it a simplistic, earthy feeling regardless of the hustle and bustle going on around you.
What stayed in my mind was the starter of tomato and feta bruchettes. Let’s face it, we live on an island where bread, cheese and tomato, regardless of the variations, are great, and this magic recipe at Derlicious comes in the form of soft and tasty feta, with just the right amount of tangy taste, fresh tomatoes and a huge bruchetta serving. Surely one of my highlights of the month. A great addition to this was the Greek salad, the best accompaniment to any Greek meal.
For mains you have any choice of meat that can go in a pitta. All types of meat smelt delicious and all looked cooked to perfection. I chose to go with a bifteki greek pitta, as it something I had not tasted and it was a great choice. Topped with lettuce, tomato, onions, fries and yoghurt, the bifteki melted in my mouth. Its tender meat was a delightful, as it had some spice, but was not spicy enough to be hot, which made it a memorable meal.
Another great option is the chicken gyros, one of the best in Limassol. The feta that is sprinkled over the hot fries and gyros creates is a nice touch. Sometimes, it is great to go for a greasy option, it’s not always the best choice, but is so sinfully delicious. And although the gyros here are a touch greasy they more than make up for it in taste. If pitta dishes are not your thing, your choices are limited but the grilled pork chop equalled other items for taste.
And which better way to top off your dish than having a bottle of ouzo to make the transformation of Limassol to a Greek island complete?
Nonetheless, there are a few things that put a damper on the experience, mainly being that of service. When a hostess checks her phone more often than she is inclined to seat customers, it might put you in a negative mood before you even start enjoying your meal.
If you are willing to brave the staff for a delicious meal on the waterfront, then Derlicious is the place to go.
