Motorcyclist killed on Akaki-Peristerona road

 A 25-YEAR-OLD Romanian man was killed Tuesday evening when his motorcycle slammed into the metal railing on the Akaki to Peristerona road, police said.

The accident happened at around 6.45pm. Police said they were investigating the circumstances under, which the man apparently veered off course and crashed into the railing on the left hand side of the road.

He was not wearing a crash helmet.

The man, a permanent resident, lived in Akaki.

 Meanwhile, 19-year-old Giorgos Alambritis who had been critically injured in a Larnaca motorcycle accident last Friday has died.
Alambritis had been a passenger on a motorcycle driven by Giorgos Filiastides, also 19, who died at the scene.
Alambritis’ family have donated the youth’s organs for transplant.
