Coronavirus: four new cases announced on Saturday (Updated)

Four new coronavirus cases were announced by the health ministry on Saturday, bringing the total to 1,037.

According to the ministry three of the cases concerned people who came from abroad, while fourth is a Cypriot who presented symptoms and was tested on doctor’s orders.

The cases were found from among 1,831 total tests processed in the last 24 hours.

The first among 978 tests processed was a man who arrived from Greece on Friday and was tested at the airport.

The other two were found from 268 tests conducted on individuals examined on private initiative.

The ministry said one case was a woman who arrived from Serbia on July 10 and was tested through her job before she started work.

The second is an Egyptian who arrived on July 14 to work on an oil rig and was tested at his company’s expense ahead of going to work.

The ministry said another 77 tests were processed from workers returning to their jobs during the second and third phase of lifting restrictions, 68 from contact tracing, 197 from individuals tested on their doctor’s orders, 63 from state hospital laboratories, and 180 from conscripts.
